Training in Spiritual Development

“A quiet conscience makes one strong!” - Anne Frank

Everyone needs a definitive purpose in life to stay motivated and content. Spiritual Wisdom exists in almost every world religion and it tells us how to live a spiritual life that defines life’s purpose through its motivation and content. Spirituality keeps you calm and guides you in learning the real meaning and purpose of your life. Spirituality enhances a person’s perspective and attitude thus helping an individual make their life fruitful in its contribution to their growth and the wellness of others.

A spiritually connected mind is a growing mind that turns away from the pursuit of negativity and fulfillment of their ego alone. A growing spiritual mind moves individuals closer to enlightenment as they increasingly realize everything happens for a larger purpose and they are a co-creator in achieving that purpose. Today’s frenetic lifestyle gives us less time thinking deeply about our beliefs, thoughts and work. The result is that we are spiritually drained and are increasing hollow unless we use our freewill to focus on growing our spirituality through understanding the spiritual wisdom that is always around for us to reflectively grow into the spiritual being we are meant to be.

Although we are each responsible for our own spiritual growth, we can find help in moving down that life path. Every major world religion and our own life experiences are our fields to grow our spiritual development training. However, training in developing spirituality helps you learn how to find spiritual wisdom and use it to create your own ever increasing spiritual life. This development of your inner self in turn helps you to discover the purpose and meaning of life.

If that is of interest to you, consider learning how this can be done with the International Academy for Interfaith Studies. You can do this with a certificate program or more seriously by becoming an Interfaith Minister with the Academy. Some argue that you can discover spirituality through drugs, crystals, chanting, and other non-intellectual means. None of those approaches are taught at the Academy. If, however, you wish to grow your spiritually through your heart and mind, consider the Academy. If this has meaning for you, go now to the Academy website.

Interfaith Education: A Requisite for Creating a Peaceful World

“Religion is a candle inside a multicolored lantern. Everyone looks through a particular color, but the candle is always there.” - Mohammed Neguib

Over the past few decades, people around the world are becoming interested in Interfaith as a new faith tradition because it is a means for creating and sustaining a dialogue between and among religions. Without peace between religions, there can be no peace in the world.  Interfaith is helping to bring a change in the way people think about religion. Although religious prejudice still exists, increasingly more are discovering Interfaith and a new vanguard, who are receiving an interfaith education, are stressing the critical need for interfaith harmony within the world today and tomorrow.

Interfaith recognizes that almost all religions have a spiritual wisdom literature and each literature is remarkably parallel to that similar literature in the other religions.  Are you interested in that parallel spiritual wisdom? If so, choose the path of gaining an interfaith education online that will enhance your religious understanding. Study courses about the various religions in the best interfaith academy. The world needs interfaith because it not only teaches tolerance but respect for the religious traditions of others.

If you value peace, wish to know spiritual wisdom, are accepting of the uniqueness of each faith, and you respect religious tenants that teach love and the unity of mankind, you need to consider an interfaith education.

Become an Interfaith Minister: A Life of Awaking Spirituality

Interfaith is for seekers of spiritual wisdom rather than a life regulated by predefined principles or rituals. With that wisdom, an Interfaith Ministers attempts to live a life of compassion and openness to the divine wisdom found in all faith traditions. Interfaith believes that is not a predetermined path to spiritual wisdom but many paths for the seeker to find, embrace, and learn to live their own discovered spiritual wisdom. Interfaith ministers are committed to the study of religions as a source of common wisdom that exists in almost all religions and to help individuals discover their own spiritual wisdom.

Like other faith traditions, Interfaith ministers attend to the spiritual needs of a community and officiate at life transitions such as blessing babies and accepting children into the community, rites of passage into adulthood, weddings, services for the departed, traditional weekly services, individual counseling, and helping others celebrate religious holidays important to them. The path to ordination as an Interfaith Minister includes the practical education on all those mentioned duties but also in-depth training in comparative religion, the philosophy of religion, theology, nonprofit management, and counseling.

What is particularly important for an Interfaith Minister is building bridges among faith traditions that transcends cultures, liturgies and spiritual paths. Interfaith is not about separativity, not seeing one religion as the only way to appreciate and worship God, or rejecting the faith of others. It is about seeing the beauty within each religion, being compassionate while living the Golden Rule that is common to all religions, always seeking the spiritual wisdom common to all faiths, and spreading the joy of diversity.

The path to ordination is intellectual but it is primarily a matter of developing the heart so that it can inform and guide the intellect. Understanding what is sacred to others is paramount in the heart’s development so that one can be focused on deliberative thought while seeking a holistic spiritual understanding of the process of life that provides lessons, gives us wisdom, and helps us grow into better individuals and societies. The primary role of the Interfaith Minister is to assist others to spiritually grow into the best person that they can become regardless of their faith tradition or even if they have a no faith tradition.

If this path interests you, consider attending the on-line training to become an Interfaith Minister provided by the International Academy for Interfaith Studies. Learn more at the following website: www.interfaithacademy.org.

Adding a Musical Spin to Being Interfaith

A step towards a united peaceful humankind is to respect and appreciate all religions traditions as they are all paths to the same divine. At the International Academy for Interfaith Studies (interfaithacdemy.org), we do that by serious study of philosophy and world religions but there are others approaches such as the study of religious art and enjoying religious music from many religions.
There many examples and many sources but they are normally organized by faith tradition. Good source is Barnes and Noble, Google, and Amazon. Another good source is current artists can be found on YouTube. For example, you can find Islamic music on Religious Music of Islam at YouTube. If you want to find Jewish music, look at the Jewish Superstore at JudaicaWebStore.com/Judaica.
Religions are very much about culture. Listening to their songs helps you intuitively understand their cultures. Do not limit yourself to songs from one religion and realize that almost all religions have a liberal and orthodox wings. Search out the songs that you enjoy from many religions. Eventually, you will get an intuitive feel for the music. When you start getting the feel, look not for differences but for the similarities. Differences are obvious but similarities will give you much greater musical insight. Some song writers try to meld religious songs from two are more cultures. Check them out.
